Personal Description:

I have been playing cello for over 20 years. I attended Junior Guildhall School of Music and Drama for 5 years where I achieved Grades 7 & 8 with distinction. Since then, I have played as a session musician, orchestral and string trio player, and play cello on compositions I have composed for Film and Theatre. I have a lovely music studio at my home just off Stoke Newington Church Street, which is where I will give lessons. All ages are welcome, from beginner to intermediate levels (grades 1-5). In the past year, two of my students took exams and they both got distinction.

Tutoring Experience:

I am patient and know that every student has different speeds in which they learn and tailoring your lessons specifically to their needs. I had wonderful music teachers growing up and it is so important when learning an instrument to have someone who is enthusiastic and passionate about the cello who is able to nurture this in others.

Tutoring Approach:

I adore the cello and all the wonderful pieces of music we get to play as cellists. I am kind, friendly and will take the lessons at the speed the student is comfortable with. As I compose music for Film and Theatre, if a student is finding playing in a key signature difficult for example, I can compose a piece specifically for them to help overcome any hurdles.
