Information About Susanne - Arlesey teacher

Personal Description:

I am one of Hertfordshire’s most experienced piano teachers with a BA honours degree, ALCM Diploma and the Associated Board of Music’s teaching qualification. I am also a member of the European Piano Teachers Association. Lessons take place in my beautiful room in Lower Stondon, just 10 minutes from Hitchin.

Tutoring Experience:

With over 20 years’ experience of both music theory and practice, I have taught privately and in schools. Children can begin playing as soon as they have some reading ability and adult beginners, or those returning to the piano after a gap are always welcome.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons vary according to level (if taking exams) but are typically half an hour for beginners, forty-five minutes for intermediate players and an hour for advanced players.

I teach children from around the age of five and adults of any age or ability. For those wishing to take exams, I am happy to teach Associated Board and Trinity College exam syllabuses up to Grade 8, as well as Associated Board theory.

My student-centred approach is grounded in the study of how children learn. I provide calm and positive lessons with lots of praise that enhance the feeling of achievement.

Research has shown that children who learn to play a musical instrument, reach a higher level of attainment in wider education. They do better at school.
