Personal Description:

A change of location from Lancashire to Cheshire four years ago, together with a reduction in my non music related working hours, is now allowing me to return to my preferred career of teaching electronic keyboard and music theory.
Although my preferred instrument, and one the I have the most experience in is electronic keyboard, I have also been successfully teaching Piano at beginners up to and including grade 1 and 2 level…

Tutoring Experience:

I have been entering pupils interested in taking practical and/or music theory examinations regularly, either twice or three times a year since 1995.
The highest grade examined and passed, by one of my pupils, in electronic keyboard was Pre-diploma for the Victoria College of Music in 2000 which was passed with Honours by my pupil.
The highest grade examined and passed by one of my pupils for the Associated board for the Royal schools of music was grade 5 which was passed with Distinction in 1997.
I have over a years experience in teaching electronic music and music theory to disabled pupils, which I always find very fulfilling.

Tutoring Approach:

I have been interested in creating music since my early teens and I enjoy sharing and encouraging this skill, for people interested in learning to play music, whether this be for their own enjoyment and fulfilment or to gain an examination in music.
Although working to achieve a specific standard and certificate in music is a rewarding experience for the pupil I never put any pressure on any pupil whether young or old to follow this route.
The main thing for me is for the pupil, no matter their standard, to enjoy their music and their music sessions.
