Personal Description:
Italian harpist Stefania has performed in various venues across the UK and Italy both as a soloist and as part of ensembles. She has performed in different private events such as the National Gallery, Natural History Museum, and Drapers Hall. She has recently completed her Master of Performance Degree and Bachelor of Music at the Royal College of Music with excellent results. She has been invited to perform for HRH Prince of Wales, HRH Duke of York, and HRH Duchess of York in sophisticated private venues in London. She has been part of film music recordings at the Belle Shenkman Studio and with the RCM Philharmonic Orchestra with the conductor Martyn Brabbins and Esa-Pekka Salonen. Stefania began to play harp aged 7 taking lessons at Conservatorio di Musica Vincenzo Bellini, Palermo and she later went to finish her studies in Lucca, Italy at Conservatorio di Musica Puccini. She has been part of prestigious masterclasses in Italy with Ieuan Jones and Emanuela Degli Esposti. She has since participated with many acclaimed musicians at RCM such as Catrin Michel, Marisa Robles, Elena Zaniboni, Jana Bouskova, and Stephen Fitzpatrick who have given her different invaluable techniques to pass on.
At age 11 she won the first prize of Concorso Nazionale per Giovani Musicisti in Italy.
She is currently giving harp tuition and playing for weddings, private parties, corporate events, and drinks receptions.
Tutoring Experience:
She started teaching a couple of years ago and she still enjoys everyday life even more. She currently has 12 students who she teaches them weekly.
Available for harp and theory lessons for pupils aged 7 and above, including adults. She prepares for ABRSM exams ( lever and pedal harp) and music theory until grade 6.
Tutoring Approach:
She is an enthusiastic teacher who enjoys being in contact with kids, working, and making music with them. She works on technique, posture, rhythm, aural skills, notation, sight-reading, memory, and performance so that there is simultaneous learning and lessons are varied and interesting.
