Information About Stamatia - Canterbury teacher
I am a concert pianist, composer and an experienced (23 years of teaching) energetic and versatile piano and composition teacher based in Canterbury, Kent. I have specialised on developing dexterity and a great technique without causing hand tension, improving sight-reading and memorisation with innovative methods. My primary target is to help you achieve your musical goal by developing an affinity for music, enhancing your creativity in piano or in composition and finding your own voice on interpreting piano or writing for composition.
I have been working with students from different ages, levels and cultural backgrounds in the UK and in different countries for more than 23 years in schools, conservatories, colleges, universities and also privately. All my students have 100% success in all ABRSM and Trinity grade exams and advanced diplomas. Many of them have won scholarships, bursaries, and free tuition in prestigious schools and Universities and Conservatoires (the Royal Academy of Music, King's school in Canterbury etc.), other awards in musical composition, won first and second places on established Festivals and were admitted to UK Universities.
I teach classical piano at all levels and ages, all ABRSM and Trinity grades, ARSM, DipABRSM, LRSM, FRSM, but also contemporary classical, minimal, pop and rock piano styles at all levels.
I can also help you learn to play from the easiest to the most technically advanced pieces from pop and rock music and make your own piano covers.
I also teach classical composition, orchestral composition and orchestration, electronic orchestration, songwriting and theory (all grades).
Global Online Teaching
I mainly give face-to-face lessons, but for the last 6 months, I have also been teaching students online from all over the world (Australia, China, France, Japan, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, West Africa, UK) via Skype and Zoom with a great success.
My primary target is to help you developing an affinity for music, enhancing creativity, expressing emotions through music, developing music compositional skills while at the same time discovering solutions to unresolved problems (difficulties in technique, psychological factors, fright stage, memory lapses, etc) you may have regardless of what is your level in music. I have also developed a systematic technique based on physiological principles of motion, which I introduce to all of my students from the elementary level to the most advanced above diplomas level in all styles (classical and popular) avoiding that way injuries and limitations in playing due to technical issues that usually appear in advanced stages.
