My name is Sonny . I am a 23 year old aspiring bass player currently working within the Music Industry as a freelance musician and bass guitar tutor. I specialise in a wide range of genres - mainly Soul/Funk/R&B/Rock and Pop.
I studied for 2 years at the Academy Of Contemporary Music, Guildford. I graduated with a 1st Class BMus (Hons) Degree in Professional Music Performance, specialising on bass guitar. I have performed with many great musicians, including Frank Tontoh (Amy Winehouse, Craig David, Joss Stone), Hamish Stuart (Average White Band), Tony O'Malley (10cc, Arrival, Kokomo), Alan Darby (Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, B.B. King), Nathan Moore (Brother Beyond) amongst many others.
I work regularly as a live, touring and studio musician. The wide range of artist's I have worked with and for demonstrates my versatility and ability to communicate, not just on stage, but off stage as well. I also write music, of which some has been recorded and released by myself and other artists.
I can teach from my home address in Lymington, New Forest. Or, I am willing to travel reasonable distances if that suits you better.

For the past 5 years I have been teaching Bass Guitar Lessons shortly after beginning my studies at the Academy of Contemporary Music, Guildford - in 2013. I teach privately at home and also travel to the homes of my students, whilst occasionally working at the British School Of Rock in Weybridge, Surrey.
My main intention is to help my student become not only a bass player, but primarily a well rounded musician. I aim to teach a skill-set that will enable my student to work within the music industry and to help them become any type of musician they wish. I also play guitar, piano and compose music, which allows me to interpret music from different perspectives, which is why I always encourage Multi-Instrumentalism. When it comes to playing in band/ensemble situations, my philosophy always revolves around keeping one eye on what I am playing and the other on what everyone else is doing. This way you develop as a musician… not just a bass player!
