Personal Description:
Have over 30 years experience playing saxophone, clarinet, flute and recorder in a variety of professional situations, and more recently I have been studying piano. Initially self-taught, I later gained a Diploma in Jazz and Popular Music from Goldsmiths University (2005).
Tutoring Experience:
Over 20 years experience teaching music. I give one-to-one and small-group lessons at my home, in students homes, and in primary/secondary school situations. I have been a tutor with Tower Hamlets Youth and Community Band (now renamed East London Community Wind Band) since 1999, with Greenwich Music Service since 2001, and with Hackney Music Service since 2012.
Tutoring Approach:
Lessons are tailored to the individual in an encouraging and supportive manner. Students can be entered for music exams if required (such as Assoc Board exams) or can follow a less rigid style of tuition.
