Information About Simon - Basingstoke teacher
Simon has been playing guitar since the age of 10 learning acoustic/ finger style then moving onto electric by the age of 12. In 2004 he began studying at the Academy of Contemporary of Music and gained Diploma and Higher Diploma. In 2007 he began studying with well renowned guitar player and tutor Phil Hilborne.
Simon has been teaching since 2005 privately and for various agencies such as Scamps and Jester Entertainment at schools all around the surrey area and more recently at Taffelmusic in Basingstoke.
In addition to teaching Simon is a working musician playing and recording with several bands.
At orange music rooms we aim to teach you the craft of your instrument through technique plus teaching you songs from your favourite bands either past or present.
This is coupled with the repetoire section and covers a range of areas including technical exercises, scales, chords,arpeggios etc.
Theory and Harmony:
Learn your musical symbols all the way through to constructing chords, scales and applying them to your instrument as well as aiding your songwriting ability.
Ear Training/ Sightreading:
Learning to recognise your chords, intervals, right through to being able to work the riffs and songs out you want to learn, this runs alongside learning how to read and understand rhythms plus sight-reading to coincide with students taking grades.
If a student wishes to take grades we cater for that offering a wide choice from various educational bodies such as RGT, Rockschool etc.
