Personal Description:

Hello all, my name is Simon . I have been playing guitar for 20 years and I have a wide range of experience playing in bands, with solo vocalists and composing my own songs/instrumentals. I currently play in a fairly local band performing at various venues. I am confident I can take anyone wanting to learn the guitar and give them the confidence and skills they need to progress at a very quick rate. Tutoring Experience:

I have taught a number of different people in the last 11 years ranging from age 6 right up to 80! I have tutored a lot of students and they have all had great success passing graded examinations or going on to be involved with bands or school music projects!

Tutoring Approach:

I start by getting a feel for the students ability (if they have experience) by letting them explain what they understand about the instrument and adapt my teaching to how they approach learning/playing/studying music. Once I have this information I give them something to work on each time that's aimed at embracing their approach yet also teaching them to incorporate any missing elements into their practice/study. Everyone can learn guitar if they want to, I feel you just need to understand how the person approaches learning and then encourage/teach them in a way they respond well to.
