Personal Description:

I am a piano teacher with more than 10 years of experience in tutoring children, expecially from 6 years old upwards; anyway, I have several adult students, happy to play their favourite classical pieces.

I hold a piano diploma equivalent to a Bachelor of Music in piano performance and a Master Degree of Art in Italy (both first). I had recitals and performances in Italy, Bulgaria, Germany (Hamburg),France (Avignone), Greece, Argentina.

I passed my grade 7 exam ABRSM in Music theory in 2017.

I have achieved the final certificate in "Becoming a better teacher" course ABRSM in July 2019.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching in London since 2012 one-to-one in student's home. I actually have 14 students, from beginner to up grade 7, most of them working for graded exams ABRSM and since lockdown, MTB that allows students to sit they exam in the comfort of their home!

I have students in West Hampstead, Crickewood, Kilburn, Golders Green and Willesden Green.

Tutoring Approach:

Everyone needs a tailored lesson to develop their own skills and this is the reason I believe in one-to-one lesson that can exploit all the student's potential.
Wherever a student demonstrates a positive inclination to study my lessons are all comprehensived covering posture, good attitude at the piano, regular practice, theory, solfeggio if required, sight reading, aural test and principles of harmony along with technical routine. I have a list of methods and piano course books that I will suggest to buy depending by the age and the attitude of the student.

From Alexandre (5/5): Silvia is a brilliant teacher who knows how to be both strict and patient with her students. My two children Gabrielle (13) and Louis (9) have made made excellent progress and love to have class with her.

From Martina (2/5): Silvia was late for our meeting as she came half an hour later and her excuse was not valid as she said something different each time to why she was late also she wasnt very professionall due to her not being able to explain herself and her English was not that good. She didnt know what to say and how to answer some of my daughters questions regarding Piano,she asnwered only the simple ones. she was quite shocked that our piano was a little out of tune and said she was not able to teach on it even though my daughters previous teacher was fine with it. thankyou

Reply from: Silvia: I want to apology with Martina for wasting her time. I found Martina's request in the market place. Since I had an other request in the same area I contacted her to offer a free trial and she agreed. Unfortunately I was late due to wrong indication by the Tfl website, my bus didn't stop where indicated and I called Martina to apologise about being late. Once reached her place, I realised it was impossible to follow her due to distance/bus connection and I told her - she seemed to understand that this is why we agreed for a trial, like I used to do with all my students. I didn't ask any payment and I offered to refund her fee. We never had a proper lesson but a short trial. The piano needs to be refurbished, and like professional teacher I need to say if the instrument is adequate for my student.
