Information About Sharon - Canonbury teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Sharon:
I am an experienced singer and performer with a specialism in jazz, other contemporary pop styles, as well as traditional folk songs from a variety of countries and musical theatre. I can guide you to develop good singing technique through a variety of exercises, develop your confidence and professionalism, and help rid you of bad singing habits.
I also teach keyboard, piano, guitar, music technology and theory at an elementary level.
I have been a private tutor in singing, piano and guitar for over ten years. I have taught in community and further education since 1994, mostly singing but also band workshops and music technology.
Technique will be taught for beginner singers and those more experienced if required, followed by work on repertoire. A keyboard would be useful, but I can provide a guitar if necessary as acapella training has its limitations.
Piano/keyboard and theory will be eventually geared toward ASB Grades if the student desires, however especially in the case of more mature students, we may take a more contemporary approach and look at use of chords and improvisation, and playing by ear. Guitar will be taught mostly with chords i.e. contemporary techniques.
Technology requires the student to have the relevant equipment.
