Personal Description:
Organist and musician living and working in Cambridge and London. Music degree from University of Cambridge as an organ scholar. I have over ten years of experience in teaching practical music and five years of experience teaching academic music (undergraduate level). I am also a practicing professional musician and regularly perform myself, mostly specialising in Baroque music.
Tutoring Experience:
Have taught music, particularly piano, organ and flute, since 2012 and have taught all levels from beginner to ABRSM Grade 8 for all ages. All students entered for ABRSM exams have passed.
I have also done many ABSRM grades myself (up to Grade 8 in Flute, Clarinet, Piano and Organ) and have obtained the ARCO and FRCO organ diplomas.
Tutoring Approach:
I believe a flexible and friendly approach is vital in order for the student to reach their full potential. Particularly where exams are concerned, I try and ensure the student is able to enjoy learning the music and find fresh ways of approaching practice and performance. I aim to incorporate all areas of musicianship into lessons at all ages.
