Personal Description:
I started learning the piano at the age of 9 with Mr John Pearson and I soon discovered a love for music and took up the clarinet and then tenor saxophone. In 1982 I joined the Hull junior wind band and also junior jazz orchestra soon progressing into the Hull Youth Jazz Orchestra. I have toured Europe playing the piano & sax professionally. I absolutely love teaching the piano/keyboard and would like to teach this full time. I have Grade 8 in piano & saxophone and Grade 6 clarinet.
Tutoring Experience:
I have 30 years experience teaching the piano/keyboard to adults and children. I have worked at a local primary school for 19 years and for the last 12 years teaching music to both KS1 & 2.
Tutoring Approach:
I like to tailor the lessons to suit the needs of the individual. Pupils can be entered for the ABRSM or Trinity College practical examinations in which I have a 100% pass rate.
I also offer online piano lessons.

My husband and I are also learning the piano and are currently working towards our grade 3 ABRSM exam. We wanted a teacher who could come to our house to teach us. Selene lives close by so is able to do so. I feel confident that Selene has the right teaching style and ability to teach all 3 of us and we would be happy to have weekly lessons with her.
