Personal Description:

Hi, I'm Seb. I've been playing guitar for over 15 years, since first picking it up when I was in year 3. I'm a full time private guitar teacher and musician, and if you're from the North West you can probably catch me gigging somewhere near you of a Friday and Saturday night!

Tutoring Experience:

I've been teaching full time for the last 3 years, and in that time I've taught privately, for an independent teaching company, and also in primary and high schools, delivering high quality lessons to people of varying ages and abilities. I've also taught drums, keyboard, and music theory in that time, so have a good knowledge of plenty of instruments and the workings of music itself!

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to guitar tuition is the same no matter who I'm teaching. It should be fun. Whether you want to pass your grade exams and make a living playing the guitar, or whether the lessons are for your kids and they're just starting out, everyone, at the very least, should be enjoying playing their instrument. For younger learners, this is also much more conducive to learning. If your child is loving playing the guitar, they're going to be picking up that guitar during the week and practising, getting better all the time. Therefore my lessons are always built around the students and what they want to achieve. For newer guitarists, I want to get them playing the songs they like quickly, and the first few lessons are designed specifically to do this. For more advanced learners, it's important to understand what they want to do on the guitar, whether that's shred a solo or fingerpick their way through a folk song. I will always tailor my lesson around you.
