Sass has been playing the drums for 24 years. Starting out as a teenager playing rock gigs in small pubs in Camden Town, he later went on to complete a BA Honors Degree in Drums at the Academy of Contemporary Music. He was privileged to study under renowned drummers such as Bill Bruford, Bob Armstrong, Mike Sturgis and Pete Riley. Armed with this new found knowledge of the Instrument, he soon started playing and recording in many different projects of different styles such as Rock, Funk, RnB, Soul, Jazz, Reggae, Pop and Latin. He later went on to establish himself as a London based Session Drummer and now also records and teaches at his home recording studio.
He has been teaching for 18 years both privately and in Schools for companies such as 'Surrey Music Tutors' and 'Drumsense' and has also written a course that caters for Students from all levels. Students are also encouraged to follow the 'Rockschool' Grading System.
His teaching style brings out the best quality in every student. Whilst providing a structure and discipline to each and every lesson, he still manages to make it fun end encourages students to be creative and to develop their improvisation skills. Stylistic playing, technique, reading, co-ordination, aural perception and Soloing are some of the many aspects that drum students study. Lessons are held at his home studio, equipped with dual drum kits and the ability to record students. Any student is welcome at any age or any level.
