Personal Description:

After studying music all through school, and performing in choirs, concerts and musicals as much as possible, I knew I wanted to continue with my passion for the arts by teaching music myself. I developed tons of skills at uni including arranging, transcription and songwriting, and I also performed and improvised in genres all across pop music. For my dissertation, I arranged covers of popular songs of various genres for a seven-piece jazz band and performed them myself. And I've been teaching ever since! I confidently deliver high-quality singing, keyboard or music theory lessons to people of all ages, using techniques that are easy to understand, and tailored to students' particular needs.

Sidenote: if you are neurodivergent and/or a member of the LGBTQ+ community, you are free to be yourself in our lessons.

Tutoring Experience:

I'm currently a peripatetic music teacher based in the Black Country providing vocal and electronic keyboard tuition in several primary and secondary schools, both mainstream and SEND settings. I've also acted as choir leader for one of the schools, as well as co-leader for the hub's own choir.

Throughout my teaching years, I've seen hundreds of pupils develop their confidence in not just their music skills, but in themselves in general. Music is an incredible way to challenge yourself, and it really does pay off! Several of my students have performed in their first concerts and musicals, and pass with flying colours in LCM/ABRSM/Trinity exams.

Tutoring Approach:

Our first lesson will be an informal session where we get to know each other, so I am able to understand your learning style and your strengths and weaknesses when it comes to the subject. Lessons will include a variety of tasks aside from playing/singing, such as worksheets, computer or tablet games, and hands-on physical activities (also tailored to your needs).

Payments will be taken via online banking. Price will be increased to £30/h after 10 lessons.
