Personal Description:
I am a multi-instrumentalist but with a main focus as a violinist. Classically trained but I have had the opportunity to study and perform in a variety of styles. Most notably I recently completed my studies at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston as a jazz violinist but where I was also able to study old-time banjo and blues guitar.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching for 15 years and my students have ranged from absolute beginners to those considering collegiate applications and with an age range of 5-75+. I am willing to teach anyone who wants to learn an instrument and I never give up on a student.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach to teaching is based very closely on my approach to practicing. I rarely expect a student to practice or learn something that I haven't done myself. A student of mine can expect to have a strong diet of staple exercises, scales, etudes etc but with the specifics being tailored to that students needs rather than by using a fixed system or method.
