Personal Description:

Ruth is an International Concert Pianist graduated from Artist Diploma in performance (Doctora**Contact Detail Removed**vel 8) at the Royal College of Music. Starting her piano life at the age of 4 with her mother as Ruth and she decided to have piano performance as her professional career at the age of 10.

Since 2010, Ruth successfully entered the Junior Department of The China Conservatory of Music and started her study and training as a professional pianist. In 2015, Ruth was offered a place with high scholarship to study at the Royal Birmingham of Conservatoire and graduated in 2019 with First Class result. In 2019, Ruth continued her piano and performance journey at the Royal College of Music in London, she completed both the Master of Music and Artist Diploma in Performance.

Ruth offers mostly online tutoring due to limited time, but she is also open to face to face lessons depending on the locations. She has prepared and accompanied more than a hundred of students for their graded and diploma exams, she will continue prepare students for all types of piano exams. (From Grade 5 to Diploma Level & Professional Level)

Tutoring Experience:

Ruth has over a decade of teaching experience starting during the time she was studying in Beijing, and in the UK since 2016. She teaches in both English and Mandarin. Ruth is specialised in classical teaching but have also taught students other genres such as pop, learning by ear and score depending on your goals. Comfortable teaching any age group, from her youngest student being 4 and the oldest in their 70’s. Due to limited time and availability, Ruth is currently only taking on new students who are in the intermediate stages of their piano journey onwards (Grade 5+).

Tutoring Approach:

As a professional musician and a piano tutor, Ruth appreciates that every student is individual and unique in the way they learn, and everyone progresses at different paces which she always keeps in mind when teaching. The goal is to bring out the best from you and allow you to become the best musician you can be. It’s very rewarding to see a student’s progress and happiness from playing music. Ruth aim to make each of her student feels as comfortable and relaxed as possible in their lessons so that they can enjoy their journey and develop well in all areas as a pianist and musician.
