Personal Description:

Ive been playing guitar for 30yrs and have played for several bands with some success during the 80s
i play many instruments and compose my own music from rock/pop to classical
Ive been lucky to have some of my works published and have composed music for city music fun with strings violin viola and cello
i still do some performances each year but not many due to my busy schedule

Tutoring Experience:

Ive taught guitar for many years and have taught many ages from 8yrs to 50yrs
i also do peripatetic work in the stoke on trent area
most of my family are in education so i guess you can say its in my blood

Tutoring Approach:

i structure the lesson around each student as everyone is different thats the advantage of one on one lessons
each lesson is half an hour or one hour however i strongly recommend young children or complete beginners start with half an hour
i use the rock school syllabus if the student wishes to take grades one to eight which are recognized qualifications by ofqual and credited with ucas points for students wishing to attend university
for the students wishing to play for pleasure i teach a variation of syllabuses which enable the student to play their favorite songs and tunes or wish to start a band be it any style of music
i can help with songwriting melody's chord progressions and harmony also lyrics and recording
