Personal Description:

Inspiring and experienced drum kit teacher based in North London.

I was previously a tutor with Warwick University Drum Society - I have several years teaching experience. I'm passionate about helping students improve and enjoy playing! I work with everyone - from life-long players to absolute beginners. I am happy to lead 1-1 sessions on general improvement, or more focused preperation for grade exams. I am also pleased to support students who want to learn to play within a specific genre.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching drum kit for several years, working with absolute beginners and intermediate players - most recently with students at Warwick University's Drum Society. I have led workshops on percussion, rhythm in theatre and storytelling, and percussion and protest. I have been playing since age 8, achieving a Grade 8 Distinction age 16 - I have continued to improve my skills by playing in a range of bands and professional musician roles. Most Recently drummer for The Warwick Big Band.

Tutoring Approach:

I run 1-1, hour long lessons, with an emphasis on weekly/bi-monthly sessions, as this enables students to improve more quickly. I am more than happy to tailor teaching to your specific goals - from general improvement, to exam qualifications, to playing within specific genres/styles. I use range of playing and reading exercises, rudament studies, and call-response methods to improve playing quickly and build confidence. For students interested in grades, I work within the Rockschool syllabus.
