Personal Description:
I graduated from Utrecht Conservatoire (NL) in 2005 with an Honours degree in Jazz and Pop. Next to a flourishing career as a live- and recording musician I've always been a bass- and piano tutor. As an extension of that I have coached, produced and managed several bands.
Tutoring Experience:
For more than two decades I have been guiding hundreds of students towards their next musical goals. I've worked for several music academies and as a private tutor.
Tutoring Approach:
The content of my lessons is dependent on your wishes and will be tailored to your specific needs. My teaching method is chord based, which helps to give you a good understanding of how music works. That could then develop into improvisation skills, songwriting/composition and/or the ability to play songs by ear.
For bass guitar lessons I usually work on a mix of bass tabs and chord sheets. On piano I find that it works well to do a mix of sheet music and chord sheets, but all of this can be discussed. Around the songs we're working on, we can then include the necessary technical exercises and bits of theory to make you understand how to take the next step.

I'm a beginner and Ron has been very good in both practical and theory teaching in the style in which I like to learn.
I'm already playing songs I enjoy and that is at my level through Ron's recommendations and it's keeping up my motivation to continually progress with the piano.
