Greetings! I am a 29 year old music graduate who is spreading his love for music and musical expression through teaching to the next generation. I am deeply passionate about music due to the immense joy and solace it has brought to my life and I wish to inspire more people to engage with real music and how it's shaped western cultures. I want my pupils to engage with music as a joy and as a life affirmation to help them find fulfilment in their worlds.
I have near 20 years playing experience. The last 14 have been a serious commitment to achieving technical and musical mastery of the electric guitar and developing complementary acoustic playing that is full of expressiveness and musicality. I have performed live since the age of 18 and have formed two bands in that time and have joined many others.
Learning the guitar is a great way to improve discipline and fine motor skills, effort-reward development, and create a love for the arts. I hope to inspire players to find the music that brings value to their lives and express it in their own unique way.

My approach to music tuition leans heavily on my own musical journey and so can best be described as a mixture of inspiration, self-empowerment, focus and dedication. I want to make guitar playing accessible for all ages, genders, identities and backgrounds, to become a part of their own life stories.
I aim to teach the fundamentals of acoustic and electric guitar to build solid foundations that can be taken in all directions, developing across styles through inspirations. I teach the importance of the guitar as a solo and ensemble instrument and the importance of music vocabulary and theory. I aim to give my students the independence to take their playing in whichever direction they choose and empower them to deconstruct the instrument and apply it to their own goals.
I want to take experienced players to the next level by exploring harmonic arrangements in ensemble settings, improving aural skills, and designing effective practice scheduling. I help them develop their musical personalities further through suggested listening and analysis of the styles of notable guitarists and songwriters.
Since 2017 I have had the privilege of teaching guitar in schools to nearly 100 students a week ranging from 6 to 18 years of age. This wonderful opportunity presents me with immeasurable learning styles and personalities, helping me accommodate each student's individualism.

If you're looking for a tutor who's supportive, passionate about music and easy to get on with, Ricardo's your guy!
I recommend Ricardo as a teacher, not only because of his obvious playing talents and knowledge of the guitar, but because of his easy going and incredibly friendly personality.
Within minutes of my first lesson we were talking as if we already knew each other and went through all manor of topics about music, my aims for guitar and more so that after just one lesson we both had a very good idea on each other
I look forward to more lessons in the near future with Ricardo
I can say he is an excellent teacher who structures his lessons to provide maximum benefit for each individual student.
He truly has a passion for music and is very easy to get along with. The first thing we discussed was my motivation and inspiration behind learning to play the guitar, which was a great way to get started.
I remain motivated to learn and look forward to continue learning from Ricardo in the foreseeable future.
