Information About Rhiannon - Bristol teacher

Personal Description:

She/Her. Graduate from RWCMD, based in Bristol. I specialise in folk/traditional fiddle styles. Neurodivergent friendly, LGBTQIA+ friendly. I'm happy to teach online or in person (distance allowing) I'm a professional fiddle player, folk singer and teacher. I was raised in the folk music tradition and have been singing and playing the fiddle for as long as I can remember. I went on to pursue a degree in classical violin performance, graduating from RWCMD with a 2:1.

Tutoring Experience:

I began my teaching practice in 2022 shortly after graduating music college. I teach an array of students at differing skill levels, with different focuses on technique & posture, aural and intuitive work and stylistic awareness depending on both the expressed needs of students and my guidance at the time. I have also begun teaching traditional folk singing since starting my teaching practice.

Tutoring Approach:

Though conservatoire trained, I come from a traditional folk music background, which informs my approach to teaching. I like to lean heavily into developing aural skills, muscle memory and a strong awareness of different traditions and styles. I'm more than happy to teach any age, any level of experience and to adapt to any additional learning needs.
