Information About Rhiannon - Ammanford teacher

Personal Description:

Rhiannon graduated with a 1st class (hons) degree from the Royal Northern College of Music in 2014. Since then, she has been an active professional classical singer, and has also enjoyed teaching singing to all ages and abilities for almost 10 years.

My main expertise is in classical singing, which is a great basis for any style of singing, but I'm also fascinated by other genres and have privately studied Musical Theatre singing for mix/belt technique, which can be an excellent gateway into improving pop singing - so we can look at improving your vocals from all angles!

As a fluent Welsh speaker, lessons can be held in English or in Welsh.

Tutoring Approach:

I'm very much adaptable to each pupil's needs, depending on their genre of interest and what their goals are.
I usually use exercises at the beginning of a lesson, not only to warm up, but also to touch base with fundamentals in technique, and then use song to focus on a mix of performance, musicality/expression and technique. I encourage pupils to bring pieces of music that they're inspired to work on, but I also will make suggestions for new pieces that I feel are suitable, so that the singer can explore new avenues and get used to learning a piece of music from scratch.
If singers want to develop their music theory, I'll also make time during lessons to build this skill with them.
I teach from home and via zoom.
