Personal Description:
I am a second year cellist at the Royal Northern College of Music with 14 years playing experience. I have played in many different settings including recitals, competitions and pit bands. I also co-run several chamber groups including a string quartet and piano quintet.
Before coming to university, I attended the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama junior department where I gained extensive experience working with professional musicians. I was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales where I had the opportunity to play for professional conductors and be taught by professional orchestral players. I had the opportunity to play alongside musicians in the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Welsh National Opera through side-by-side projects.
Since coming to RNCM, I have been exposed to countless inspiring musicians, gained significant experience and continue to develop.
Tutoring Experience:
I have volunteered in different musical settings and helped in classrooms alongside teachers. I now offer one-to-one lessons to pupils of all ages and abilities.
Tutoring Approach:
My lessons are catered towards the needs of each individual pupil, where I aim to create a fun, creative, and relaxed atmosphere. The structure of our lessons will be determined by your ambitions, whether that is aiming to reach personal goals, or if you’re looking to prepare for specific grades or qualifications.
During our lessons we will cover all aspects of cello playing, including key technical skills, sound production and musical interpretation. As a student from RNCM, I learn from a wide range of professional performers in the industry today, and hence their techniques and teaching styles. All these experiences will help to shape our lessons together and create the right approach for you.
Typically a lesson would be 30 minutes to 1 hour, whatever suits you best!
