Personal Description:

Hi! I’m a classically trained vocalist, pianist, and flautist from Leith, Edinburgh, with fifteen years of experience in performing and producing, and six years experience in teaching music. I graduated from Edinburgh Napier in 2013 with a first class honours degree in Popular Music.

As a musical artist, I have extensive live touring experience throughout the UK and the US, have recorded live sessions for the BBC, sold out shows and played at numerous festivals. I produce and mix all of my own work for myself and for others. I have also been featured in music publications such as Clash Magazine, Wonderland, and Songwriting Magazine.

Tutoring Experience:

Over the last ten years I have taught privately, at the Morningside School of Music, and at Edinburgh Napier University as a Professional Consultant for Popular Music in Voice. I am also PVG certified.

Tutoring Approach:

While every student will have their own personal goals, my guiding principle in teaching is that playing music should be enjoyable. I take a supportive, friendly, and relaxed approach to teaching, and I understand that music lessons are about building more than just a practical skill. Over the years I have watched my students develop confidence, patience, and a genuine love for practicing and performing. As an experienced writer, producer, and collaborator on a range of musical projects, I can also help students with recording, music production and songwriting.
