Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching since 2009 during University and continued while in London. I taught instrumental lessons, theory and I have experience coaching Quartets and other small ensembles. At University I took teaching modules each year to gain more experience and whilst at the Academy started my LRAM Diploma which I was awarded in November 2017. I now hold my Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy qualification.

Tutoring Approach:

I teach any level using any method that is best suited to each pupil. I help students work towards their exams (for example ABRSM, Trinity), auditions or performances. One major part of learning the Violin (or any instrument) is knowing how to practice effectively and which method works best for you. I Include theory, scales and studies into lessons but in such a way that relates to repertoire and keeps it interesting and fun. If working towards an exam, I find it best to play other repertoire along side the exam work to keep a pupils ideas and creativity fresh and inspiring. I like to hear an individuals' musical ideas in their lessons and try to get them to think about making music even in their practice sessions!
