Information About Rachael - Olney teacher

Personal Description:

For me music is all about doing it with other people, so for that reason I love teaching, accompanying students, singing in choirs and being musical director for a local amateur dramatic group.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching (mainly from home) for over twenty years. I teach a wide age range - currently between 5 and 63. I regularly submit applications for Trinity Guildhall and ABRSM exams and also do LCM for Music Theatre and AB Theory exams. Every term I accompany not just my own singers in their exams but instrumental students for other teachers in the area.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to keep a varied approach to music lessons according to the student's age and interests - and it stops me getting bored! We combine aural and theory with playing/singing pieces. I'm always happy to help students with pieces of music for auditions, concerts and academic work. I teach regular hourly and half hourly lessons during term time but am happy to do one-off lessons for specific events. Students are not compelled to do exams, but to work towards whatever their particular musical goals are.
