Personal Description:

I have over 20 years experience teaching and performing, both in England and in the West of Ireland where I lived for 15 years. In addition to teaching I enjoy accompanying Singers and Instrumentalists for Exams, Festivals and concerts. I'm also an experienced Ballet Pianist and have played for both RAD and ISTD exams and classes.
I also love Chamber Music and love exploring the variety of repertoire there is for the genre.
I am currently working towards my Dip ABRSM (Teaching)

Tutoring Experience:

With over 20 years experience under my belt I have come across a wide variety of students. I have taught all ages from 5 to 75 and it's fabulous so see a student in the early stages of their musical journey to watch their progress and maturity grow.
I include Music Theory and Aural work as part of the lesson as I strongly believe embracing these in conjunction with playing makes a much more rounded musician.
I have taught Privately, in Music Schools and in the Primary and Secondary Sector.

Tutoring Approach:

I am very flexible in my approach and believe in following a students lead. If following the grades and working in a more structured method is desired then that is great. Equally, if someone doesn't want to commit to working this way and prefers a more casual approach then, once the lesson is enjoyed and the student is getting what they want out of playing I am happy.
