Personal Description:

Natural musician and multi-instrumentalist. Involved with music from a very early age. Guitar, piano and drums are key strengths, but saxophone and violin can also be taught to beginners if necessary.
Intellectual, highly professional and motivational.

Tutoring Experience:

Aside from all things SATs, I am very fortunate to be a natural musician who plays the guitar, piano and drums by ear, but I also have a good grounding in reading music / music theory, and am able to teach this as such. I only need to hear a tune (more or less any tune) once or twice in order to be able to play the chords or melody on guitar, drums or piano.

I am also a more-or-less fluent speaker of the French language and would be more than happy to teach this to KS2 pupils, possibly even early KS3 if such learners are able to convey their requirements to me.

I look forward to our partnership and now await any questions you may have.

Tutoring Approach:

I have played piano, saxophone, drums and percussion, recorder, ukulele, violin and guitar.

Main instruments are piano, drums and guitar in terms of particular strengths.

I believe the key to my approach involves much patience and a genuine belief in the learner, making he/she recognise that the sky is the limit if motivation, enthusiasm and drive are assets that he/she already possesses. I'm also passionate about the theoretical side of music and linking musical devices / terminology to aspects of music history where relevant.

They say, 'practice makes perfect' - and whilst I strongly believe in this, there are so many other elements and characteristics as to what makes a good musician, and I will aim to elicit these in any learner under my guidance.
