Information About Pia - Manchester teacher

Personal Description:

Hi everyone! My name is Piá and I am currently a first year Masters student studying violin performance at The Royal Northern College of Music. I have been playing the violin for 15 years and have a varied experience across many genres and styles of playing (classical, folk and pop being some of my favourites)!

Highlights so far include co-leading in projects with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, working as principal alongside renowned artists Ray Chen and Esther Abrami, and becoming one of the first recipients to receive the Barbara Twigg Prize through Yorkshire Young Musicians. I also achieved my DipABRSM in violin performance in 2019.

Tutoring Experience:

In the past, I have taught young children/teenagers in group settings through my local music service. I also have experience in peripatetic, individual teaching where I have occasionally shadowed and taught.

In my final year at Pro Corda North (music course), I was tasked with leading orchestral rehearsals as well as playing principal. This intense teaching experience has been invaluable.

Tutoring Approach:

It is all down to YOU! Whether you want to pursue music/grades, learn a new skill or simply pick up where you left off years ago, every lesson will be catered specifically for you. I encourage each and every student to find joy in their playing and to transfer and apply this energy outside of lesson time in day to day life - music is for everyone.

I aim to create a welcoming environment, with lessons always being an open and safe space to ask questions. During your free 30 minute consultation lesson, we can discuss your goals and devise a brief plan on how to achieve these. I can be relaxed and/or detailed in my approach - please let me know which suits you best.
