Personal Description:
Pete is a graduate of The London College of Music and worked as Musical Director of Gifford's Circus from 2000 to 2007. He has appeared in many films as a musician and is very experienced (he has recorded and co produced 2 albums and played at many great venues in the UK) He is now passing on his knowledge and experience to students in Gloucestershire and all students have a 100% pass rate with either a merit or distinction, together with his 12 tutors.
Whether you want to learn a new instrument or you want to pick up from where you left off as a child, students have found his lessons are fun, dynamic and fresh. Everyone has commented on Pete's natural ability to relate to students and teach in a way that really inspires.
All styles of music are catered for so whether you’re a Mozart fan or you prefer AC/DC, the possibilities are endless. People of all abilities are welcome, from beginner to expert.
Pete’s DBS checked with public liability insurance. He is a member of the Musician’s Union.
Tutoring Experience:
Pete started as a teacher of English but then became Musical Director of Gifford's Circus, where he also ran music workshops for children. This is where Pete realised that teaching was extremely rewarding and he had a real flair for it, making the lessons fun and interactive. He also connected really well with the students. So from here, Pete started teaching students in Gloucestershire and set up The Music Guru which now has approximately 400 students.
Tutoring Approach:
You may want to be taught classical musicianship and learn the ABRSM syllabus http://gb.abrsm.org/en/home or rock / pop / jazz via Trinity Rock school http://www.rockschool.co.uk/ or maybe you just want to learn for fun, it’s all catered for.
Lessons are fun and strategically planned to meet each individual’s targets.
Pete is the Director Multi award winning Music Tuition Company 'The Music Guru' which also has 12 tutors, providing tuition in many instruments. All tutors are DBS checked, at least Grade 8 in their chosen instrument and all have the enthusiasm and coolness of a performer!
