Pete offers a FREE first / introductory lesson!
My name is Pete and I have lived in Edinburgh for 20 years since coming here to study photography at Edinburgh College of Art. I am a singer, guitarist and songwriter in the experimental band PET and write and record music regularly.
I live in Bruntsfield with my wife and I teach lessons either from my home or I will come to you.
I learned Piano and Violin as a child and I have grade 5 in both. I started learning the guitar at the age of 16 and the music theory I had already learned was really helpful.
I have been teaching piano and guitar to children and adults for 10 years and I also teach guitar, bass and drums in youth clubs in Edinburgh and Kirkliston.
I am an out and out music lover and a songwriter so my approach to music is rooted in finding a true enjoyment in the learning process. I am keen to find out what it is YOU would like to learn and take from playing music.
I use a combination of teaching approaches dependent on the student. I use classical music and popular music while teaching piano, but I also use Youtube and Spotify as tools for listening to song ideas from my pupils. In my guitar teaching this can be very useful to pick out riffs and chord progressions that most interest the student. YOUR FIRST LESSON WILL BE FREE!
