Personal Description:

Hi! I am a very friendly flute and recorder teacher who is passionate about music and teaching. I put a lot of effort and energy into my lessons, and my students always pass their exams with high grades and got scholarships in some of the best schools in the country! Get in touch!

About my studies and professional life:

Coming from a family of musicians, I have always been surrounded by music and I started learning piano aged 5. Later on, I discovered this amazing instrument while listening to a concert: the flute! I was immediately drawn to it and I soon convinced my parents to gift me some flute lessons. In no time I entered the Music Conservatoire of Pescara, Italy. Some years later, I graduated with honours thanks to Professor Maria Fabiani, and went on to study flute with international soloist and conductor Patrick Gallois at the Conservatoire of Aulnay-sous-Bois (Paris). I was awarded there a prestigious "Prix d'Excellence" (PgDip Hons) in 2013! After that I really wanted to get more experience playing in an orchestra, and so I moved to Sweden, where I enrolled in the Master of Arts in Symphony Orchestra Performance at the Academy of Music and Drama of Gothenburg. I could not have taken a better decision, as this kickstarted a busy freelancing career that allowed me to perform with some of the most prestigious Scandinavian orchestras, including the National Orchestra of Sweden, Gothenburg Opera, Tampere Philharmonic Orchestra, Turku Philharmonic Orchestra. From 2016 to 2020, I have also been Principal Flute of the Jyväskylä Symphony Orchestra in Finland.

During this time, I have been fortunate enough to work with conductors and soloists of international standing like Barbara Hannigan, Santtu-Matias Rouvali, Eva Ollikainen, Klaus Mäkelä, Jasmine Choi and Víkingur Ólafsson, taking part in hundreds of concerts and the recording of four CDs.

At the moment, I am based in Cambridge and I give flute lessons, recorder lessons and I teach music theory to students of all ages and abilities. I am also Teacher of Flute at the Stamford Endowed Schools, where I enjoy teaching a number of Music Scholars, as well as at the Conservatoire of Cosenza (Italy), teaching online.

Tutoring Experience:

As a teacher, I have taught pupils of all ages and backgrounds in the past 11 years, both as a self employed teacher and as peripatetic teacher at the International School of the Gothenburg Region and the Conservatoire of Jyväskylä, the Conservatoire of Cosenza and the Conservatoire of Pescara. Currently I am teacher of Flute for the Stamford Endowed Schools, I teach from my home in Romsey, where I live with my partner who teaches flute and piano.

I am fully DBS Checked and I undergo regular Safeguarding training as part of my job.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to teaching is focused on fostering self confidence in my students through positive reinforcement and enthusiasm for music making. The objective is to improve your playing while having fun and cultivating this great life long skill that music is! Preparation for grade exams and training for conservatoire auditions are also available.
