Paulo graduated with honours from the Conservatoire of Pescara (Italy) before going on to study in Paris and then getting a masters in Symphony Orchestra Performance at the University of Gothenburg (Sweden). As a freelance flautist, Paulo has performed with some of the most important orchestras in Scandinavia, including the National Orchestra of Sweden (Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra) and Gothenburg Opera, and has been principal flute of the Jyväskylä Symphony Orchestra (Finland) from 2016 to 2020. Since August 2020, Paulo has relocated to Cambridge and offers private flute and music theory tuition.
Paulo has taught pupils of all ages and backgrounds in the past 10 years, both as a self employed teacher and as peripatetic teacher at the International School of the Gothenburg Region and the Conservatoire of Jyväskylä. Currently based in Cambridge, Paulo is teacher of Flute for the Stamford Endowed Schools, as well as professor of Flute at the Music Conservatoire of Cosenza (Italy).
Paulo's approach is focused on fostering self confidence in his pupils through positive reinforcement and enthusiasm for music making. The objective is to improve your playing while having fun and cultivating this great life long skill that music is! Preparation for grade exams and training for conservatoire auditions are also available.
