Information About Pauline - Peacehaven teacher

Personal Description:

I have been playing the Bohdran for over 25 years and I have been playing in an Irish folk band for 22 years. I am often asked to teach the Bohdran but I had a management career for 30 years and never really had the time. However, I am now offering Bohdran lessons for beginners and intermediates.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching the Bohdran since 2019.My teaching experience comes from spending many years in a job that required me to train others in a number of subject areas. I am told that I am good at explaining complex issues in an easy to understand way. I do not have a qualification that is relevant to playing the Bohdran although I am well educated and was a Fellow of a professional institution for many years.

Tutoring Approach:

I use lesson plans as a guide but I do focus on the learning style of the individual. It's important to get the pupil playing as quickly as possible as I believe that's the key to maintaining interest and enthusiasm. I demonstrate and play along but also allow the individual to play while I listen and watch.
