Information About Paul - Huntingdon teacher

Personal Description:

I am an experienced, orchestral player, and instrumental music teacher, specialising in piano and woodwind instruments. I have played in orchestras in the UK and abroad, and have directed bands, ensembles, and youth orchestras. I work for a county music service and teach privately.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 20 years of music tutoring experience, taking students from complete beginner to grade 8 and above. My years as a performer in orchestras, ensembles, military bands, and different genres of music contribute to my teaching and knowledge.

Tutoring Approach:

I aim to enthuse and keep the lessons as fun and relaxed as possible, in order for students to play well, and learn effectively. I believe in adapting to each individual, continually assessing their wants and needs. ABRSM and Trinity exams can be helpful (either face to face or digital), youth orchestras and ensembles are also beneficial. I encourage and support these, but only if I believe it's right for the student, the important thing is finding out what works for the individual.
