Personal Description:
I am a a PGCE qualified Graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
I have been teaching since 1980 so am extremely experienced. I have a high pass rate in exams which are offered to those interested.
Tutoring Experience:
Worked as a peripatetic music teacher since 1980 for various music services and since 2000 have run my own teaching service.
I have taught all instruments offered to Grade 8.
Tutoring Approach:
Friendly, informative and encouraging teaching, giving technical information pertinent to each instrument and teaching music theory alongside the instrument at a basic level, so pupils learn to read and understand music as well as learn to play the instrument.
Grade 5 theory is taught to those that wish. Music exams are offered to those interested.
