Information About Paul - Salford teacher - (1 review)
This is how 2 referees rated Paul:
I am a highly experienced professional guitar tutor, providing guitar lessons to students in Manchester, Salford and surrounding areas. Originally from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, I have been playing guitar for around 18 years, first picking it up at the age of 12 and instantly falling in love. In 2005 I graduated from Salford University with a First Class Honours Degree in Popular Music and Recording.
I am currently vocalist, guitarist and songwriter for Manchester based Progressive Metal outfit Spires. We have so far released a full length album and an acoustic EP, both to widespread international critical acclaim. I have played in bands all around England, and even into Europe since I was sixteen
Formerly head of guitar tuition at Life Music in Chester, I have been a full time guitar teacher since 2006. Having relocated to Manchester in 2008 I am now teaching from my home studio in Stretford, just 5 minutes from Chorlton, Whalley Range, Sale and Didsbury. I also teach in colleges in the Greater Manchester area.
Lessons are designed to be as comfortable and non intimidating as possible, in a relaxed environment, and are suitable for adults and children. I am happy to teach any age or ability. Please do not feel you are not good enough, old enough or young enough; anyone can play guitar with the right inspiration.
I can teach any style, from Rock and Metal through to Jazz, Blues and anything in between. Feel free to direct me. Lessons can be theory intensive, or just for fun; What you want is what you get.
Lessons are designed to be fun; I intersperse learning techniques and tricks with learning some of your favourite songs, whatever they may be. I encourage at least a basic grasp of musical theory, enough to understand how to create the kind of sound you're after.
I am also a professional producer - if you want a great sounding demo of your new found skills, or just something for reference, look no further. If there is something in particular you want to learn, whether its jazz improvisation, playing a thousand notes a second (joke!), or a particular song, just let me know.
I also teach approved Rock School grades, which can count towards UCAS points and GCSE results! Let me know if your interested.
It is my passion and enthusiasm for playing and writing that I believe will rub off on my students. After all, if its not fun for you, why bother!
