Personal Description:

I have been playing drums professionally since 1990. In that time I have performed with artists such as: Katrina and the Waves, Jaki Graham, Tony Hadley (Spandau Ballet), Shane Ward (X-Factor), Ben Mills (X-Factor), Rowetta (X-Factor), Bucks Fizz, Jason Donovan, George McRae, Sister Sledge, Will Mellor and Irene Cara to name but a few. More recently, I have been working in association with Disney Cruises as Musical Director.
From an early age, I had the very good fortune to be accepted as a pupil by Bob Armstrong www.bobarmstrong.co.uk, whom I studied under for 10 years (1985/1995). Bob was and still is one of the leading drum teachers in the country.

Tutoring Experience:

I maintain an exclusive drum teaching practice and I teach students of all levels on real drums.

Tutoring Approach:

I always emphasize a musical approach to playing the drums. One of my aims is to provide students with the knowledge and skill to enable them to play with or without music in a variety of musical styles. A good understanding of basic song form is therefore an essential skill that will help make a student’s drumming sound more mature and professional.
