Personal Description:
My passion for violin started when I was 5 years old and began my studies in the Musical Lyceum “Ciprian Porumbescu” in the Republic of Moldova. I realized that music has an important place in my heart and soul. Whilst I was studying, I took part in many different competitions and concerts around Europe.
From 2008 to 2009, I had master-class courses with famous violinists including: Charles Sewart (former member of Chilingirian Quartet) and Sandor Devich (member of Bartok Quartet), violist Jerry Horner (former member of Fine Arts Quartet) and cellist Laszlo Mezo (member of Bartok Quartet). Furthermore, I had the opportunity to have lessons with Sofia Propiscian (Nijni Novgorod) and Eduard Grach (Moscow) while I was student in the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Moldova.
I was also awarded a place in a prestigious project organized by the Romanian Cultural Institute in Bucharest to take part in frequent professional string quartet master classes with the world renowned “Belcea Quartet“ (London). It was such a great pleasure for me to play with such intelligent and outstanding musicians.
I subsequently graduated with distinction for a Licentiate Diploma in Higher Education Music from the Academy of Music, Theatre and Fine Arts in Chisinau. Afterwards, I worked in the National Opera and Ballet Orchestra for three years and joined a number of reputable Chamber Orchestras and Ensembles which helped me gather valuable professional experience.
In 2012, I was invited to perform worldwide, including places such as America, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Romania, Poland and the UK. The same year I was honoured to play at St Paul’s Cathedral in front of Prince Charles amongst other distinguished guests as well as being asked to perform a recital by the well known Funtington Music Group in September 2012 in Chichester. Since then I have performed in a number of concerts as both a soloist as well as the leader of several orchestras.
In 2012 I received a full postgraduate scholarship at the University of Chichester and subsequently achieved a distinction in my Masters degree in Music Advanced Performance. I now act as a the Concert Master for Chamber and Symphony Orchestras as well as providing private tuition to their students as a Guest Lecturer.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching students of mixed ages and abilities for over 10 years. I gained excellent experience teaching students to improve their art of interpretation with intelligent reflective thinking in the Musical College's "S. Rahmaninov" and "St. Neaga" from Chisinanu in Moldova. Since moving to the UK in 2012, I have been employed as a Guest Lecturer at the University of Chichester providing regular tutoring sessions to the music students. I use my comprehensive experience in orchestral and solo playing to help teach a highly technical and motivated style however I also privately teach lots of children and adults with mixed abilities ranging from complete beginners to advanced.
Tutoring Approach:
I offer a very balanced teaching approach for students of mixed ages and abilities. Whilst I am delighted to offer the opportunity to achieve high growth value performance in classical music for advanced musicians, I am also able to bring the joy of music to those beginners who just wish to learn to play the violin. I would like to share my knowledge and experience and help my students achieve their goals. Please get in touch with me to see how I can help you learn to play the Violin and Piano.
