Personal Description:

I am an experienced tenor singer encompassing classical, opera, musical theatre and contemporary music. My expertise and experience makes me an ideal choice for all manner of professional gigs, ranging from weddings and parties to large scale musical theatre and opera productions, as well as a variety of tutoring roles.

Educated at Gordon’s School in Surrey and with a degree in BA Music (Hons) from Bath Spa University, I have performed in many concerts, recitals, shows, weddings and school parades; Acis and Galatea, Dido and Aeneas, Blue Monday, The Magic Flute, Oliver and Grease plus countless musical theatre songs, classical pieces and the occasional rock number!

I am an extremely versatile and reliable performer who is equally at ease in both small venues and large scale shows. I have a natural flair for languages and am competent singing in Italian, French, German and Latin, as well as English. My natural empathy and absolute passion for both music and drama is what sets me apart from other singers and what makes me an ideal tutor to work with people of all ages.

Tutoring Experience:

Over the last 7 years, I have taught singing to a number of students, varying from beginner's repertoire to Grade 8 standard classical repertoire, as well as classical technique. I have also taken a serious interest in Vocal Health and have written several pieces of work on the subject.

Tutoring Approach:

My approach to any lesson would be completely catered to the individual. Whether you want to just have a bit of fun trying out a song you particularly like (be it pop, musical theatre, classical or opera!), or have more focused sessions to build up your technique and learn a wide range of music (such as classical, opera, English folk, Lieder and world music). If you would like to work on music towards any grades then that is also an option!

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and have fun while you are doing it. Starting singing from scratch can be daunting (I remember how nervous I was all those years ago), but I will aim to make the process as enjoyable and invaluable to you as possible!

I am happy teaching beginners of all ages, as well as adults with some musical training already under their belt.
