Personal Description:

I'm a percussionist with 19 years experience as a professional. I specialise in afro-cuban and brasilian instruments. Working as a freelance musician, I have toured, recorded and performed with a vast number of artists from the UK and from all over the world, and continue to do so.

Tutoring Experience:

I have taught from primary school level all the way up to degree level, and do yearly masterclass tours of music academys in the UK. I have written a year long percussion course for Hackney adult education, and over the years, have lead several school samba bands to perform at events around the country. For 10 years I have also taught one to one latin percussion at my south london based studio, and now from a studio in bucks also.
The majority of my one to one students are now semi- professional/ professional active, free-lance percussionists.

Tutoring Approach:

I like to create a teaching environment were the student feels relaxed and confident, that all levels of playing are possible with a mix of enthusiasm and discipline, and that all learning barriers can be overcome with determination and patience.
