This is how 2 referees rated Nigel:
I was born in 1956 and studied music at Leeds College of Music and at Sheffield University. My teachers on accordion included Ivor Beynon and Owen Murray, current Professor of accordion at the Royal Academy of Music. As well as teaching, I work extensively as a professional musician, actor and composer.
I have taught the accordion at all levels for many years on a private basis. Additionally, I have taught the accordion at Leeds College of Music, Leeds Metropolitan University, Chetham's School of Music (Manchester) and on summer schools. I have also have extensive experience in theatre in education, working with children of all ages. I have a current enhanced CRB check.
Learning to play a musical instrument is a wonderful thing to do, but it does require time and some dedication. To help my students I try to make my lessons enjoyable, inspiring and thought provoking. I work in different ways with students, tailoring lessons to suit interests, aims and students individual learning patterns.
