Information About Nicola - Wakefield teacher

Personal Description:

I started learning piano at age 4 and went on to pass Grade 8 aged 12. I began to learn flute age 9, initially as a second instrument, but soon realised that I wished this to be my main focus.
I have payed flute in Yorkshire Wind Orchestra since 2009 and previously played with Leeds Symphony Orchestra. I play in the Wren Flute Trio and we perform regularly in venues throughout the UK.
I am the Musical Director of Barnsley Flute Choir and many of my students are members.
I began learning cello last year and am now a member of Holme Valley Orchestra - I'm thoroughly enjoying the challenging of learning a new instrument!

Tutoring Experience:

I have extensive experience of teaching flute and piano and have had many students successfully pass Grade 8 with very high marks. I enter students for both ABRSM and Trinity exams, either in person or digitally. I accompany all my flute students on the piano for their exams.

Tutoring Approach:

I offer tailored tuition in flute, piano and music theory. Whatever your age, ability or reason for wanting to learn, I can help you achieve your goals. I currently have students ranging from 8 to over 80. My main aim is to provide fun, friendly and patient tuition to anyone who wants it.
I have taught students with autism and tailor my approach accordingly.
I thoroughly enjoy teaching and helping aspiring musicians meet their goals.
