Personal Description:
Music has been a large part of my life for some time, and I would have it no other way.
I have been playing the beloved keyboarded instrument since 2001. I have performed in Birmingham Symphony Hall, in a number of pit bands for different musicals, I have won competitions for playing the piano, and I regularly play piano in my church, and also lead the worship team.
Tutoring Experience:
I have been teaching piano, and music theory, since 2012, and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
In 2018, I took on a piano teaching role in a piano studio, where I was teaching groups of students and I absolutely loved it. It helped me develop, even further, in my teaching ability.
In recent times, I have gone solo again, under my business name 'PianoForte UK'.
Due to Covid-19, I have learned to teach online, which originally had its challenges, but has now become a really useful way to learn and teach, and even has a number of benefits over traditional teaching (particularly for the piano).
Music is such an amazing gift, and to be able to give this gift to others is simply wonderful.
Tutoring Approach:
PIANO:
I teach piano to people from beginners level, up to grade 6 standard (grade or no grade). Casual lessons and/or exam preparation are your choice. ABRSM is the exam board I most commonly use, but am happy to go along with other boards too (Age 6+)
MUSIC THEORY:
I teach music theory up to grade 5 standard. Casual tutoring and/or exam preparation is your choice. ABRSM is also the exam board I most commonly use for music theory. (Age 8+, depending on the capability to focus)
The first lesson with me is free, and if you carry on having lessons with me after the trial, I will cover the cost of 'first tutors' contact fee.
Online lessons available and in person lessons available.
For online lessons, I have two cameras set up for better viewing angles for students, and good image and sound quality.

My child who is 3.5 years old and is not a child who adapts easily, made him feel at home and had immediacy and contagiousness which is very important.
Thank you very much that the first contact with the piano was smooth and constructive
