Information About Nicholas - Norwich teacher
This is how 4 referees rated Nicholas:
My main areas of music is the folk music of France, Brittany and the British Isles. I have performed all over the country in Folk Clubs, concerts and at Folk dance events as well as some of the biggest Folk festivals in England such as Sidmouth, Towersey, Folk East. I have also performed in festivals and other events in Sweden, Slovenia, Germany and France.
I am passionate about folk music and the freedom it can provide for interpretation and invention. My inspiration comes from the music of Karen Tweed(Accordion) and 'Swap'(Swedish/Irish), Julian Sutton(Melodeon), Liz Doherty(Fiddle), Yann Fanch Perroches(Melodeon, Breton), Nancy Kerr (Fiddle) and many many more…
I have five to six years of teaching experience both here in England and abroad. I have experience in both one to one teaching and group teaching with both adults and children.
I also have experience teaching folk music and folk dance in schools.
Every tutee is different and we all learn at different speeds. Given this fact, I like to go at the pace the pupil requests or needs. I like to teach by ear as this is a valuable skill but I also read and understand music and music theory, which are also skills any musician should have. If requested, during lessons a mixture of practical and theory music is possible. I like to give the pupil the large portion of choice in what they would like to do/achieve on their lessons.
