Personal Description:

My name is Nathan and I am an experienced music teacher based in Yardley, Birmingham. Discovering a passion for music during my childhood, I took lessons on piano and alto saxophone. I hold a bachelor of arts in music composition from Coventry University and have completed a PGCE in secondary music through Birmingham City University. I thoroughly enjoy working with people and look forward to bringing my experience to your music education.

Tutoring Experience:

I have been teaching from my private studio for the past 8 years. During this time, I have taught for Primavolta Mobile Music Tuition and a local music store in the Birmingham area. I have also taught on the music technology course for Forward Music Workshops and frequently participate in music drop in sessions at local secondary school. I hold a PGCE in secondary music with QTS from Birmingham City University and have worked as a music teacher in two secondary schools.

Tutoring Approach:

Lessons take place at a newly built studio in Yardley, Birmingham. At the end of every lesson, students are provided with detailed practice notes allowing them to refer back to the lesson during the week when they are practicing on their own. Lessons can be aimed towards taking exams, or playing for fun. My aim is to develop students as musicians throughout their study.

In your lessons, you can:

​Learn at your own pace in a relaxed and comfortable environment.
Learn pieces for casual play or for graded music exams.
​Study music theory alongside instrumental study.
Learn to compose your own music and improvise.
​Take part in concerts and performances.
