Personal Description:

My name is Natasha and I’m a professional opera singer and a passionate and experienced singing teacher. I teach a classical based technique that can be applied to lots of different genres of music.

I have trained for 8 years at various conservatoires to gain three qualifications: an Artists Diploma in Opera from the Royal College of Music, an MA (Distinction) with DipRAM from the Royal Academy of Music, and a BMus(Hons) from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. I am currently working in the industry as a freelance opera singer, with companies in the UK and abroad.

Tutoring Experience:

I have over 10 years of singing teaching experience, both privately and in secondary schools. I have plenty of experience of preparing students for exam grades, and work with the ABRSM syllabus. My students have a 100% pass rate, with the majority receiving Merit or Distinction. I teach people of all ages, from primary school upwards, and particularly specialise in teenagers and young adults.

Tutoring Approach:

My main goal in lessons is for my students to have fun and enjoy making music, whilst still challenging them to improve vocally and grow as an artist.

I believe that a good singing technique can be applied to all genres of singing as the building blocks are the same. It is those building blocks that I will focus on in lessons: breathing, support, posture, airflow and resonance. These can be worked on through games and vocal exercises. My specialism is classical singing, but I'm also happy to work on musical theatre or jazz. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy singing!
