Personal Description:

I am a graduate of Falmouth University, the #1 Arts University in the UK, with a Bachelor's Degree in Popular Music and a Junior Guildhall School of Music graduate with Voice as my chosen instrument, as the youngest student accepted onto the programme. In my own professional music career, I have been awarded BBC Favourite Find of the Week, BBC Favourite Track of The Week, been a chosen artist for 4 BBC Stay at Home Sessions, the chosen 'Spotlight Artist' on BBC Radio London for an interview and live performance, as well as on BBC Radio Cornwall.

As a tutor I have taught music students in singing, piano, music theory, and songwriting. I have also been a mentor for professional music artists, with my coaching including songwriting, music business (including brand creation, music law, marketing and more,) and performance technique. I have also worked as a SEND teaching assistant in a performing arts school.

As part of my background in my several years of nannying, I have assisted children with their music homework, music theory, and instrument practice- helping with technique, organisation and confidence.

I currently study acting at Identity School of Acting alongside while acting in, assistant directing, producing the music for as well as being the PR rep a play whose run just finished.

Tutoring Experience:

My teaching experience includes music instrument tutoring including voice, piano and ukulele, music performance, composition and tutoring basic music theory for students at all levels. I have been a mentor for emerging professional music artists and worked as a SEND teaching assistant in a performing arts school, assisting in main subjects as well as helping teach music classes including their music production classes. I ran an after school singing group for young girls for a year, taught music with Singing for the Brain helping people with Alzheimer's in a music therapy capacity, and organised and played in music performances for our local elderly care home.

Tutoring Approach:

My methodology is based on the belief that every student, no matter their age or starting level, is capable of achieving whatever they put their mind to. This is so long as they have confidence in their own abilities, find the fun and stay focused, which I help them to accomplish as their tutor. Every student's dream or goal is well within their reach if they have this and I see my job as helping to provide it.

My students and mentees are left with a toolkit to use on their own to self-sufficiently achieve their long-term goals with the confident knowledge they got themselves there through their own talent and hard work with my help simply as a conduit. It's also super important to me that we always find the fun in every step!

Whether that's with music theory, school curriculum work, songwriting, piano, keyboard, ukulele, singing or building a professional career and performance identity, we will happily get there.
