Personal Description:
As a First Class Honours Music graduate of King’s College London (having trained as a soprano with Professor Ryland Davies at the Royal Academy of Music) and currently a Master student at the Royal College of Music training with renowned soprano, Patricia Rozario. For my third-year undergraduate dissertation, I researched the change in male vocal pedagogy in nineteenth-century opera, supervised by Dr Flora Willson. Having taken part in masterclasses such as the English Touring Opera’s with John Andrews, and now taking singing lessons with the renowned opera singer, Nadine Sierra, I have much experience as a performer which compliments my teaching. I have been involved in opera productions, such as King’s College London Opera Society’s production of Britten’s Turn of the as Miss Jessel, Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia as Berta, Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, as the understudy for Hänsel and a chorus member, and I directed their production of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. A duet from Bach's Cantata BWV 80, performed at St John the Evangelist Church, Friern Barnet, led to two interviews with the Ukrainian department in the BBC World Service in my last year of sixth form. Since then, I have put on my own concerts, performing Ukrainian Art Songs as I am passionate about introducing them to a new audience. After restrictions lift, I am looking forward to performing in the world premiere of Edward Nesbit's opera, Antigone.
Tutoring Experience:
I have much experience in teaching both one-to-one and group singing classes. I have worked at multiple secondary schools as a peripatetic voice and piano teacher and have a 100% pass rate for ABRSM, Rock School and Trinity exam students. My advanced voice students (voice being my principal study) have achieved distinctions in grade 5 and 7, and I have experience teaching at grade 8 level too. Alongside my degree, I worked as a peripatetic music teacher, teaching a range of ages from young children up to adults. In my second year at university, I worked in the King’s St. George’s Widening Participation Project, where I taught music classes to children from under-privileged areas who would not otherwise have access to music lessons. It was a pleasure being able to make music more accessible and I learnt much about finding different ways of explaining tasks. During my work experience at the Finchley Arts Depot, I also taught a singing workshop, but as a stand-alone masterclass, I had to really consider what would be most valuable for the students to learn within the limited time. I am hard-working and dedicated to making learning fun and accessible for my students. Whether I am teaching one student or thirty, I am approachable and good at explaining challenging material.
Tutoring Approach:
My approach varies depending on the student and what they want to learn. Often, I will spend the first half of the lesson on warm-ups to ensure that the second half of the lesson (working on pieces or songs) comes more easily without any bodily tension (whether I am teaching piano or singing).

Natalka's Feedback

Total Positive Feedback: |
I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with my services. However, I must correct you as I never stated that I was "no longer able to commit" in your words. I offered options for when I was available and the last I heard from you was that you could not make those times. As an employed opera singer my circumstances can change and all my previous clients have understood that perfectly.
To any FirstTutors clients, I can provide many positive and honest references from satisfied clients. Please feel free to contact me.
Kind regards,
Natalka
